The Mayor's Charity Fund
The Mayor of the London Borough of Enfield Appeal Fund (registered charity number 283320) exists to further such exclusive charitable purposes as the Mayor of Enfield selects during her year in office. Each Mayor chooses causes that matter to them, and to the borough, and spends the year raising funds and awareness in their support.
For 2026/27, Cllr Emma Supple has chosen to support three local charities: Whitewebbs Museum, One to One Enfield and Insight Young People. Alongside her fundraising, she is using her mayoral platform to champion Enfield's green belt, its local businesses, and its proud industrial heritage.
This Year's Focus
Protecting the Green Belt
Enfield is home to a remarkable amount of green belt land for a London borough — the Lee Valley Regional Park, Trent Country Park, Hilly Fields and the wider countryside to the north of the borough. Cllr Supple is a passionate advocate for protecting these spaces, recognising their value for wildlife, wellbeing and the character of Enfield.
Supporting Local Business
Enfield's economy is built on the energy of its independent traders, its town centres, and the manufacturers and innovators based on its industrial estates. Throughout her year, the Mayor is visiting and celebrating local businesses across the borough, and encouraging residents to shop and support locally.
Celebrating Our Industrial Past
Enfield has a rich manufacturing and engineering heritage. The Royal Small Arms Factory at Enfield Lock, birthplace of the Lee–Enfield rifle, and the mills and works that once lined the River Lea, helped power Britain's industrial age. That legacy of enterprise and craftsmanship continues to shape Enfield's identity today.
